Founders

Umbrella U.S.A. was founded as a holding company for administrating Umbrella business in the United States, not taking part in the production of actual products, themselves. Umbrella U.S.A. was headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, which had significant internal business dealings with its facilities in Raccoon City.

Soon after the opening of its pharmaceutical subsidiary, Umbrella Pharmaceuticals, Umbrella began developing biological weaponry for militaries across the world.

Umbrella had a number of other subsidiaries that included Umbrella Medical Equipment, as well as Umbrella Industries which was responsible for the development of anti-B.O.W. Umbrella's true goal was not, in fact, a capitalistic urge for monopolization of a lucrative industry.
